Sara Scaglione
Owner and Principle Designer
Sara opened her shop in Austin in 1994 with a love of beautiful textiles, antiques, custom furnishings and the idea that a home should feel collected. She and her team create interiors that feel personal, layered and timeless; a reflection of our clients lifestyles.
Sara has collaborated with top architects , builders and artisans in Austin and leads her own design team creating interiors that are defined by intention, creative vision and problem solving. She also loves sharing her experience and knowledge with interior design students offering guidance and mentorship as they explore their own educational and work opportunities.
Sara's work has been featured in House Beautiful, Austin Monthly Home, Tribeza and Architectural Digest.
Ericka Freels
Studio Manager
Ericka is from a small town in McMinnville, Tennessee, and she graduated from the University of Memphis with her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies.
Ericka always knew she loved Interior Design, but it wasn’t until she joined Shabby Slips that she knew she wanted to make it a career. Ericka has been with Shabby Slips as the Store and Design Operations Manager since 2013. She manages and assists on all design projects around the United States and internationally. Ericka is also a partial buyer for the Shabby Slips Showroom. She considers herself incredibly blessed to have found her dream job, and looks forward to many years to come working for Shabby Slips.
Emma Grace Horne
Visual Design Associate
Emma Grace Horne is from Boerne, Texas and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Baylor University.
With a passion for creativity and design, she pursued a career in interior design to help bring beautiful and functional spaces to life.
Since joining Shabby Slips in 2026, Emma Grace has served as a Visual Design Associate, supporting the design team through the visual development and presentation of projects.
